The Spongebob Musical: Live On Stage!

Many may know Spongebob Squarepants as a character from the Nickelodeon T.V. show of the same name, but in December of 2017, Spongebob made his Broadway debut. The show ran until September 16, 2018, after 327 performances. I was sad to see the show was closing because I already loved the soundtrack, so naturally, I wanted to see the show.

Luckily, Nickelodeon recently announced that the original Broadway cast would reunite and perform for the Nickelodeon special "The Spongebob Musical: Live On Stage!" It is set to air on December 7, 2019. I thought this was a really great idea. Not only does it give fans, like me, a chance to see the show, but it could introduce many kids watching Nickelodeon to musical theatre.

True, Spongebob The Musical is typically underrated and rejected from the theatre community because a lot of people believe that the show is just for kids. That's probably why it had such a short run on Broadway. But many fans will tell you that if you give it a chance you may find yourself enjoying it.
